Obituary

William Lee Mitchell, born February 24, 1960 to Simone and Thelma Mitchell (both deceased). On Saturday, March 23, 2019. William was called home to be with his Savior.
As a young man William (Bones is what they called him) was very athletic. He was always flipping, jumping tumbling doing somersaults, walking on his hands and he was very good. The family truly believed if someone had snatched him up trained and coached him he could have been in the Olympics he was that good. He was also very skilled using the Bruce Lee “nunchucks”, we loved to watch him (always hoping he didn’t hit a particular area).
Bones was a pleasure to his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and would try to help you out, mot times he did more harm than good (lol) if he helped you move you would end up with a few broken pieces (lol) but it didn’t matter cause his heart was bout helping you. Another thing about Bones you could never, ever use this one particular word when talking with him (the “N” word). He would be so offended and would get so angry. Because he said that was not who he was !!!
Bones had many hardships in his life. He lost his mother when he was 21 years old to a very tragic death. He lost one of his eyes in a fight, lost a new born baby named Oshea, was hit by a car, had other health issues and so much more happened to him as he struggled with these life’s challenges. But even in midst of all this he would still greet you with a hug and that beautiful smile!
He had a beautiful heart. He loved to dance, loved to dress, loved kids, and helped his sister Marcy by serving in her daycare, loved the ladies (smile) loved his family and friends, and had many other loves. Whenever he would get a large sum of money he would call his siblings and tell them he had an envelope for the. He shared with us what he had.
Bones received Jesus Christ in his life year 2003 and joined Christian Stronghold Church year 2004, and later joined Temple of Prayer Church. He also visited many other churches seeking and searching peace from God. He memorized many scriptures and tried to obey them because he loved the Lord and tried to please God, but had a hard time letting go of the things of this world.
On his birthday, February 24th, he was so happy to hear from his family to wish him a happy birthday. He was always so grateful for the smallest things you did for him. One month later, he was in the arms of his Savior in heaven. We’re grateful to God that he is no longer suffering or struggling because he is with Him. God knows that we are weak and that we will struggle in this life, but once you receive Christ in your life and surrender your will, He was with you and will empower you to be victorious. But you must choose!
