The Obituary
MAURICE FITZGERALD BERRY was born May 15, 1964 to the late Willie Mae Berry and Matthew Samuel King. He was the youngest of all his siblings.
During his youth, Maurice attended St. Stephen's Catholic School later entering Thomas Edison High. Though he kept you laughing with his abnormal tactics, he was very intelligent, had a free spirit, and always kept a job. There was not a job, big or small, that Maurice would let pass by. With his optimistic nature, and work experience he gained a position at a predominant establishment in Center City named Book Binders Seafood Restaurant for many years until their final closing. Never giving up his determination to keep money in his pockets, he continued to look for and land different job opportunities near or far.
While traveling his earthly walk, and everyone knows he would walk a thousand miles to spend time with family and friends, he entertained everyone that came across his path with his unique walk and hat tilted sideways.
At any given moment, Maurice would belt out a tune or break out in dance at the sound of music. Uncle Moe was affectionately given that name by his nieces and nephews who cheered him on to get the party started. Individuals who knew him could say he would do anything for anyone in need, loving, kind and the life of the party.
Though he did not attend Sunday service during much of his adult years, he knew Jesus Christ as his personal savior. If you knew him well one of his famous quotes were "God take care of all babies and fools."
He leaves his cherish memories with his five sisters, Mrs. Elaine Taylor, Mrs. Penny Bank, Carol, Diane and Denise Berry; seventeen nieces and nephews; forty-three great nieces and nephews; and nine great-great nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
