Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, especially the Philadelphia
Eagles.
The Obituary
The Measure Of A Man
Not — “How did he die”?
But — “How did he live?”
Not — “What did he gain?”
But — “What did he give?”
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not — What was his Church?
Nor what was his creed?
But — Had he befriended
Those really in need?
Not — “What did the sketch in the newspaper say?”
But — “How many are sorry that he passed away?”
Ervin leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife,
Mendeara; 3 brothers, Clarence, Anthony and William; 5
aunts, Maryann, Geraldine, Catherine, Margaret and
Celeste; 6 uncles, Joshaway, Milton, Thomas, Lonnie,
Willie and Lonnie of Charlotte, NC; Mother-In-Law,
Beatrice Floyd; 1 Uncle-In-Law, Fred; 10 Sisters-In-Law,
Viyae, Justine, Adrienne, Joise, Calvinette, Katrina, Felicia,
Carol, Charyle and Christine; 7 Brothers-In-Law, Anthony,
Curtis, Viller, Horace, Harold, George and John; a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and
his beloved pets, Dutch, Cocoa, Milo, Royal and Chirp.
