Obituary

DON MARCELLO SMITH (also known as Donald) was born to the late Fannie Lee Smith & Benjamin Alfred Dozier on July 4, 1958 at the Philadelphia General Hospital.
After the death of his mother Fannie Lee Smith, Don and his siblings were raised by their aunt Lillie Mae Moody and their uncle Frank Falls.
Don received his education in the Philadelphia School System. Don (aka Donald) worked at the River Park House for the last 21 years. He loved his job. He would go to work sick, they would have to send him home. He loved it so much he didn't want to miss a day.
Don loved to dance, his feet would glide across the room. Luther Vandross was his favorite artist. His favorite Luther song was “A House is Not a Home. Don was a jokester and he always had something smart to say to you. He always made you laugh. He hated to talk on the telephone, he would cut the conversation short. If you would say you don’t love me he would talk to you a little longer. Don’s friends nicknamed him “Dunkin” Don, they said he would be coming home from Church with his Church shoes on and get in the game. He would dunk on them with church shoes on.
He leaves a legacy of love to 5 sisters - Sylvia Smith, Paulette W. Strong, Ann L. Rainey, Barbara Smith, and Lenetta Smith. One brother Rodney Smith, one uncle George Smith (Willie Ruth), two nieces Valeska Harper (Troy), Ceara Holmes, and 8 nephews, LaMont Rainey (Charity), LaVar Rainey, Jahmal Rainey (Allison), Michael Smith, Walter Bynum (Kendel), Montay Bynum, Paul Smith, Dominick Strong. His extended family Joan Wooten and Benjamin Dozier, Jr.
