Obituary

Charnèa Mercedes Smith was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 28, 1995. She was the second of three daughters born to Lamont and Charlene Smith.
Charnèa, affectionately known as Néa, was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. She graduated with honors from William Penn High School in Delaware County. Nea received her Associates degree in Criminal Justice May 2017 and her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice May 2019. Both from Central Penn College. She was scheduled to begin classes towards earning her Master’s Degree in October 2019.
Nèa worked as a Therapeutic Support Staff worker for Epic Developmental Services for 3 years. She was currently stationed at Conestoga High School.
Nèa spent her days living her “best life”. She was a very outgoing and friendly person who was always there when you needed her. Anybody that knew Nèa, knew that she was always the life of the party. She was the aunt that all the kids wanted to be around. She loved to travel with her best friends and party with her family.
Nèa was preceded in death by her grandmother Arlene Keith and her great grandmother Dorothy Carter.
Nèa leaves to mourn: her parents, Lamont and Charlene Smith; her sisters Charmya Smith and Charonya Smith; her cousins that were more like siblings, Erica Smith and Andre Bruce Jr.; a nephew, Elijah James; a niece, Ariana Baker. Kyle Baker, who was more like a brother. Her favorite uncle/second dad Eric Smith; Her favorite aunt Trina Thompson. A special cousin/Aunt Michelle Thompson-Bruce; her best friend Sharnay McKnight and the entire McKnight family. Her favorite cousins Emily Carter, Lester Carter, and a few special people that were more like family Jasmine Northern, Karsen Simmons, Mikayla Phillips, Sonia Wimberley and Karena Parker. A host of aunts, uncles, more cousins, and friends who loved her dearly. She will be missed.
REST IN PEACE BABY. MOMMY LOVES YOU.
