Obituary

ANDRAY GEORGE MCNAIR, was born on February 27, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Josephine (Davis) McNair and Henry Richardson. Andray was the oldest of two children, Andray and James “Pop” McNair. He departed this life on October 20, 2018.
Andray accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at First Corinthian Baptist Church.
As a child, he was a proud member of the Philadelphia Boy Scouts as a Troop Leader.
Andray, commonly called “Dray”, excelled academically at John Bartram High School. There, he earned a numerous amount of awards, medals, trophies and certificates because of his hard work and perseverance that filled up the mantel piece.
After graduation, he attended Lincoln University where he pledged Groove Phi Groove Social Club. Also, he graduated from the Philadelphia Community College with an AA in Business Management.
Andray’s work experience started approximately at the age of nine when he was a paperboy. He also had several jobs before graduating high school, such as working at Daddy George’s Catering Business, and a manager at McDonald’s. Other work experience included: The Philadelphia Electric Company 1985-1996. Afterwards, he was employed by SEPTA from 2002-2014. Since this time he has volunteered for the Red Cross for over three years.
Andray united to his former wife, Tara McNair, a decade ago and from this union four sons were born, Gabriel A. McNair, Malcolm D. McNair and twin siblings, Jelania and Bomani O. McNair.
In 2005, Andray met the woman of his dreams, Estella McKnight. They were united in Holy Matrimony on December 2, 2006. They remained in marital bliss until his untimely death.
Andray’s quiet, humble strength pays tribute to the family he loved. He ‘d always strive to keep the memory alive of those that raised him, reciting quotes from them, especially, great-grandmom Lucille, affectionately called Momma. Momma always saw the good in him and became the source of his clever wisdom.
Andray leaves to cherish his legacy: his queen, Estella; four sons; three step-children, Latasha, Tyisha and Dontay McKnight; one granddaughter, Beautifull; nine step-grandsons; one brother, James “Pop” Davis; one aunt, Joyce McNair; two cousins, Jacqueline Jackson and Stanley Moore; his dogs, Max, Alexis and Anna; and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
