Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zetilda Clara Taylor, who

peacefully departed this life on February 17, 2025 at the age of 91.

Zetilda was born on June 3, 1933 to the late Henry and Francis Green in Jamaica, West

Indies, where she lived a life filled with love, dedication and joy. Her brother Syvin

preceded her in death.

Zetilda graduated from Anchovy High School where she laid the foundation for her

lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. In 1971, she courageously

embarked on a new chapter of life, arriving in the United States to build a bright future

for herself and her family.

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Zetilda found her calling in Environmental Service at The

Curtis Building. She was known for her strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail

and unwavering commitment to her colleagues.

Zetilda was a devoted member of White Rock Baptist Church, where she found solace,

strength and community. She was baptized on August 25, 1985 and received the Right

Hand of Fellowship on September 1, 1985. She was a member of The Trustee Aid Circle

of the WMU and belonged to the Sheepfold of Esther/ Nehemiah/Roger Williams. Her

faith was a cornerstone of her life and she actively participated in church activities,

always ready to lend a helping hand.

Zetilda's life is a testament to the belief that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Her

radiant smile, selflessness and warmth touched the lives of everyone she met. She

enjoyed sewing, going out to eat, traveling and attending church. Above all, she loved

spending her time with family and friends creating cherished memories that will endure

forever.

Zetilda was predeceased by her beloved husband Sylvester and son Darryl. She shared

many wonderful years of marriage with Sylvester and they raised a close-knit and loving

family.

Her legacy of love, kindness and resilience will continue to live on through her family

and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Zetilda leaves behind her cherished children; Beverly, Angela, Michael, Yvonne,

Raymond, Sandra and Perlina, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She is also survived by her dear siblings; Esmin, Linette, Hilda, and Millicent, who will

remember her as a source of strength and inspiration; grandchildren Devon, Jessica,

DeSean, Andre, Danielle, Serena, Stephanie, and Brittany; great-grandchildren Isabella,

Andrea and Kanyah; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and her White Rock

Church family.

Zetilda Clara Taylor will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain with us always.

May she rest in peace,

The Family
