WILLIE MAE LOTT was born September 14, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late General Sherman Lott and the late Mazie Lee Jennings. She was educated in the Philadelphia School System, graduated high school, and went on to pursue vocational training. Willie Mae accepted Christ as a young adult, she and only sibling Joyce (deceased) joined Monumental Baptist Church at 41st and Ludlow Streets and were baptized by the late Reverend Dr. Moses Marquette Peace.

Willie Mae was a hard-working divorced mother raising her son, Herbert Leon Ralph, Jr., alone until she met and married Reginald Johnny Johnson on August 15, 1960, this union produce one son, Brett Johnny Johnson. Her beloved husband of 36 years and both sons preceded her in death. Willie Mae maintained employment with the School District of Philadelphia in the Food Service Division. After 26 years of exemplary service, she retired in 1986. Her love for children led her to accept a position at the West Philadelphia Community Child Care Center which she held for an extended period. She loved adventure. She and sister, Joyce and "their crew" often traveled near and far on excursions organized by community leader and neighborhood activist the late Mrs. Elsie Wise.

Suddenly on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, our Lord called Willie Mae home to her eternal resting place. Willie Mae's favorite scripture was Isaiah 41:10 "DO NOT FEAR FOR I AM WITH YOU; DO NOT BE AFRAID, FOR I AM YOUR GOD. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with my right hand of righteousness through unspeakable loss and unbearable grief she persevered. She relied on God's hope filled promises to bring comfort to her soul and peace to her heart.

As we mourn, we are charged to smile in her memory, remember her presence, appreciate the love she always had for everyone, embrace the positivity that she wished upon us and most importantly, know that she will always shine upon us. For those we hold in our hearts never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they showed, the comfort they shared, and the love they brought into our lives.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her five grandchildren, Brittney Marie, Brianna Terez, Brett Jr., Marcella (Blair), and Brad; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Issac, their mother Kim; daughter-in-law, Marianne and a host of other relatives and extended family.
