WILLIE DOUGLASS ALLEN JR. was born February 7,

1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Alice May Young

-Allen and Willie Douglass Allen Sr. Willie was affectionately

known as Will or Peanut. Will grew up in the North

Philadelphia section of the city as the oldest sibling to the late

Gwendolyn Allen and Garfield Allen. Will had many hobbies

and interests. One of his many hobbies was an avid sports

gamer. Will also was known to have O. C. D. about his vehicles

spending countless hours fine tuning and detailing his vehicle

daily. Will also had a passion for boxing and respectfully

earned the name Lil Peanut from a local boxer that went by the

Peanut, who was a very great and close friend of the family.

Peanut became Will's boxing mentor and trainer that help

guide Will into becoming a great amateur boxer well respected

and locally know for his craft. Will also was a devoted coach

little league basketball and Pop-Warner League Football. Flag

football coach for the Salvation Army League. He also enjoyed

chess, paint balling, vacationing and anything army or strategy

related that requires strategizing and execution of meticulous

details. Will was educated in the school system of Philadelphia

and attended Thomas Edison High School. Will was employed

by Western Metals Steel Mill, Somerset Knitting and work for

Mercy Philadelphia Hospital for approximately 15 years until

his retirement in 2009 after being diagnosed with cancer. Will's

life has taken a major turn when he met his wife in 1991 whom

he begun dating in 1992, which led into an awesome wedding

in 2000. Although Will was a very tough person who tends to

hide his true feelings drop tears of happiness on that he

officially married Christine Adams-Allen, who became his heart

and soul, confidant, best friend and more importantly the love

of his life. Will (Peanut) was a great husband, great son, great

brother, great nephew, great father and great grandfather,

great protector and a great provider.

His swagger and aura would light up the room

wherever he entered with a stroll that cannot be replicated.

Tough demeanor with a big heart. Passion for fashion and

enjoyed life to the fullest. Always seeing the glass half full.

There was never a problem that Willie couldn't solve. Great

advisor and motivator, no one can take the memories we all

had a pleasure of sharing. Will was diagnosed with ·Stage 4

cancer in 2009 and giving a life expectancy of approximately

11 months and went through hail, high waters, fire and storms

to fight another 15 years before succumbing to illness

surrounded by his loving wife and family. Willie "Peanut"

will no longer suffer and finally be at rest. Willie will always

be remembered by his one of a kind signature haircut bald

high fade with a crisp part down the center. Man with the

upmost confidence. Those that truly know Will can attest that

we all truly lost a great person. Throughout his battle he never

complained about all that he endured which was a true

testament to his character, Heart of pride.
