William Lee Golden Jr., the youngest of two children, was born to the late William Lee Golden Sr. and Louise Accooe Golden on December 13, 1931 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He entered into his eternal rest on Sunday February 16. 2025.

William, known as Billy to family & friends, was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. He attended Sulzberger Junior High School. William graduated from West Philadelphia High School in June 1949. Two years later, after graduating from high school, William joined the United States Air Force. His term of service was June 4, 1951 to June 3, 1955. After serving in the Air Force, he worked for 35 years at the United States Post Office. He retired from the federal government on December 31, 1986.

William was married to the late Betty Frazier Golden in 1956. To this union two children were born, Gail Golden-Congo and William Golden III.

Later in life, William married Mary Ann Hines.

After retiring from the United States Postal System, William enjoyed home. He worked in his God given gift of gardening. He always had a beautiful garden. William loved to travel and taking trips to Hawaii. He loved listening to Hawaiian music and sharing the great times and experiences he had while vacationing in Hawaii. Also, William was a proud veteran and fondly recounted stories of his travels while in the Air Force.

William was preceded in death by his parents, and his older sister; Helen Estelle Golden-Moore.

William leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Gail; his son, William III; son-in-law, Jack; 4 grandchildren; Lauren, Jason, Julian and Michele; 1 great granddaughter; Sydney, 1 niece; Sandra, 1 grand nephew; Mark, 1 grand niece; Elena, a dear friend; Janice Mapp and many cousins.

Our father's passing has saddened our hearts. We are consoled by knowing in Heaven he has taken his place.
