The Obituary

WILLIAM MCKINLEY BUTTS entered into eternal

rest on October 17, 2023 at Lankenau Hospital after leaving

the Saunders House for rehabilitation..

His life began in Macon, Georgia on August 7, 1926. He

was the second child born to the late Willis and Hattie Mae

Reynolds Butts.

He attended the Bibbs County Public Schools in 1938.

In April of 1945, he entered the United States Army.

William met Rita and was married on November 29,

1952. This union was blessed with three children, Senia,

Billy and Cicle.

He worked as a sheet metal worker until he decided to

go out on his own and begin his own business as a landlord/

apartment owner. He collected friends from all walks of life.

His past time was sitting on the front porch socializing with

neighbors and sitting in the sun.

He leaves behind to mourn him: three children,

Marsenia Vincent and Carla Williams of Philadelphia and

William Butts Jr. of Bear, DE; six grandchildren, Kristy

Hopkins, Damien Butts, Tyann Butts, Traci Vincent, Tristan

Butts and Lateefah Butts; two sons-in-law, David Vincent

and John Williams; one daughter-in-law, Tanya Butts; a

host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives

and friends.
