Wilhelmina
Richardson
Aug 19, 1926 — Aug 15, 2025
Columbus
Wilhelmina Richardson (Relerford) was born to Jeddie
and Pearl Relerford on August 19th, 1927, in
Philadelphia, PA. She transitioned peacefully and
surrounded by love on August 15th, 2025, at the
blessed age of 98 in Gahanna, OH.
Wilhelmina was the youngest of four children, but didn't
let that stop her from being both seen and heard. She
received her formal education from the Philadelphia
public school system and later went on to work with her
sister, Catherine, at the Valley Forge Military Academy.
While working at Quartermasters, she found her passion
for sewing. She would later meet her husband, Joseph
Richardson, whom she wed in 1950, and go on to raise
her beautiful family.
She loved her four sons and always encouraged them to pursue their dreams and
endeavors. She enjoyed playing bingo and pinochle with family and friends. As a pillar
in her family and community, she cared for many children with disadvantages and never
knew a stranger.
Wilhelmina was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jeddie and Pearl (Gross)
Relerford. Sisters: Catherine Burrell, Jeannette Relerford, and brother: Roosevelt
Releford. Husband: Joseph Richardson. Sons: Sigmund and Julius Richardson.
Wilhelmina is survived by her sons, Edrick Richardson and Leo (Dara) Richardson. Her
many grandchildren and several great, and great-great-grandchildren. And a host of
nieces, nephews, and loving relatives to cherish and carry on her loving memory.
