Wilbert McClendon was a sweet, kind, generous, helpful, loving and humble gentleman until you got on his bad side. He was born February 29, 1944 to Clara (honey) and John McClendon. He attended the Georgia public school system in Marshville Georgia. He went to Lambson Richardson high school and graduated in 1962. For a graduation gift he wanted to move to Philly, which he did and started residing with his cousin Geraldine Chance and started working for the railway express company. When the company folded he was drafted into the U.S. Army in May of 1964 to Vietnam where there he was an E3 officer with the 97th division transport unit and had an honorable discharge, after returning to Philly, he wanted to attend college so he went Raleigh N.C. to attend Shaw university and studied criminal justice while there he was on the football team and was so good that the buffalo bulls gave him an invitation to attend they're training camp while at show. After leaving college he worked as a counselor at Gratersford prison he also worked at Vision Quest, the Sanitation Department in an administration capacity. He worked at Espencer Miller middle school as substitute teacher as well as being a well know D.J. in Philly called Pie. He was a substitute teacher amongst other things. He was an avid motorcycle rider with the Wheels of Soul for a decade.

He is survived by his son Kevin Jackson, daughter in law Wanda Jackson, two grandsons Malik & Simar Jackson, a grand-daughter in law Shauna Jackson, four great-grandchildren Quadir, Esah, Sanaa & Sahara, two aunts Geraldine & Shirley Chance & a host of cousins & Friends.
