The Obituary Virginia Helen Williams was born April 16, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Kathryn Luff and Columbus Gray. She was the middle child of Kathryn's three children. She attended and graduated from Dobbins High School and later received a degree from Pierce College. Virginia was a very talented artist and was responsible for several murals painted on a couple of the bridges in Philadelphia. She could and would draw or paint any object you would request of her. She often said she wanted to write and illustrate her own children's books, but God called her home before she had the opportunity to accomplish that feat. She accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of twelve where she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and taught and enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She also went to White Rock Baptist Church, but later changed her membership to Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir at every church she attended. Virginia met and married Samuel Williams, Sr. and started working for the city of Philadelphia, a job she truly enjoyed. Later she changed jobs and worked as a receptionist at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital located in Camden, NJ. She loved to travel, therefore she an opportunity to visit several places in New Jersey visiting her sister, nieces and nephew. Then when her sister moved to California getting to meet family she had not met and meeting new family members. Virginia leaves to cherish her precious memories, three sons, Bill Williams, Samuel Williams Jr., and Matthew Williams; two granddaughters, Kathryn Williams and Deena Muir; one great granddaughter Caylynn Muir; one sister Jeanette Jennings; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and loving friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her father (Columbus), mother (Kathryn) and brother (Hiram). Virginia will be missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
