Vernon Cornell
Fullman
Nov 13, 1957 — Aug 7, 2026
Philadelphia, PA
Vernon Cornell Fullman was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on November 13, 1957, to the late Genevieve Fullman and Willie Green. Vernon was the sixth of seven children and, from a young age, brought a special energy, joy, and excitement to the lives of those around him. He was full of life and had a personality that made him unforgettable to the people who knew and loved him.
Vernon was educated in the Wilmington Public School System and graduated from P.S. DuPont High School in 1976. During his younger years, Vernon and his younger brother, Kevin, shared a love of swimming and became accomplished competitors, participating in swim meets throughout the city. They also proudly served as lifeguards at various swimming pools around Wilmington. These years were filled with friendship, family, competition, and memories that remained a cherished part of Vernon's life.
Following high school, Vernon worked at Chrysler in Newark and later at GM in Wilmington for a short time. Throughout his life, Vernon remained connected to the people he loved and created memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Vernon was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Genevieve Fullman; sisters Jessica Fullman and Sharon Fullman; and brother Malik Hashim (Larry Fullman).
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his daughter, Malikka, of Wilmington; his ex-wife, Sandy, of New Castle; and his beloved grandson, Samir. He is also survived by his older sister, Debbie Miller, of Wilmington; his god-sister, Debra “Hess” Griffin, of Wilmington; his brothers, Kenneth, of Philadelphia, and Kevin (Sharon), of Wilmington; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Though Vernon’s journey on earth has come to an end, the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the memories he created will remain forever. His family takes comfort in knowing that his life touched many hearts, and his memory will continue to live on through those who loved him.
Per Vernon’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate his life and honor his memory. Please reach out to his nephew, Naybu Fullman, at fubyan@aol.com for additional information.
