Obituary

Thomas R. Casey was born on November 24, 1941 in Philadelphia County to the late William Cofer Casey and Ophelia Mack. He attended the Philadelphia school system. Graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic Boy's High School. Served in the United Army. He was employed at West Park Hospital for approximately 10 years. Thomas worked for SEPTA where he later became a union representative for Local 234.

He enjoyed hunting and often despite his illness every season would call his hunting buddy and longtime friend Lonnie White to plan a trip in the woods. He was a Phillies Fan and enjoyed baseball. He also was a loyal Eagles Fan and enjoyed watching a good football game every chance he got.

Thomas entered marriage again to Juanita Person on November 21, 2020.

At his annual summer barbecue, he enjoyed friends and family, where he was famous for his "Pea Burgers" which he took great pride in preparing for his cookouts.

On June 16, 2025, God called Casey home to rest.

Thomas was preceded in death by his sons Benny, Richard and his siblings: Bonny, William, Johnny, and Michael.

Thomas is survived by his siblings, one brother Jimmie and two sisters Maureen and Bonnie, his sons Thomas Sample, Michael Sample, James Hobbs and Anthony Hobbs, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
