Sep 11, 1945 — Jun 30, 2023
Thomas William Blackwell III affectionately known as " Butch" was born, September 11th 1945 to Thomas William Blackwell Jr and Beryl Blackwell in Brooklyn New York.
Butch attended the Brooklyn Educational School System, where he ran track and field and received his High School diploma
He loved watching sports such as basketball and football, and grew up a huge New York Yankees fan
At the age of 19, Butch joined the United States Air Force, where he honorably served his country for four years.
Butch resided in Manhattan New York most of his adult life where he took up acting as a profession, performing in Broadway plays and films in the U.S. and Europe, where he went by the stage name of "Thommie Blackwell", some of his most notable performances being, " Long Day's Journey Into Night", "Short Eyes", and "Personal Problems" just to name a few.
Butchie as some would call him was a vibrant guy full of life , who seemed to have a natural knack for humor that could make anyone who crossed his path laugh at any given moment.
Butch genuinely loved his family as he often loved to reminisce about his fondest childhood memories in Philadelphia growing up with cousins Tommy, Johnny, and others , and telling many stories about our grandparents Thomas Sr. and Mary Blackwell, affectionately known as Mom Mom and Pop Pop, as he was very proud of his Blackwell heritage.
