Obituary

Theresa Hayward, born Theresa McDuffie, was a beloved daughter of the late Moses and Dollie Mae McDuffie. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was the fourth of ten children, including Hazel, Moses (deceased), Vancie, Gloria (deceased), Portia, Brenda (Kevin), Debbie, Yvonne, and Cassandra. Theresa was educated in the Philadelphia public school system from elementary through high school.

Theresa had a deep love for dance, music, and the arts. Following her graduation, she dedicated over 20 years to working at Storks Diaper Service.

Affectionately known as Tootie, Theresa could turn rain into sunshine with her comic relief and banter. Her famous saying, "Chew Choo Charlie was an engineer," among many others, will bring memories and laughter to all who knew her.

On September 5th, 1980, Theresa married Jose D. Hayward, marking the beginning of a union that lasted nearly 44 years. Theresa was a devoted mother to her four daughters, Michelle, Damolla, Dinah, and Denise, and her four sons, Jose (deceased), Dartanion, Daniel, and David. She also cherished her stepdaughter, Bernadette. Her family further extended to her two sons-in-law, Darnell and Garron, and her daughter-in-law, Joi.

Theresa was blessed with beloved grandchildren: Markease, Kelsey, Jewel, Jaia, Dartanion, Brendan, Dylan, Zion, Serudjta, Khepri, Zara, Nebula, Jayden, Ryan, Nolan, Uriel, Raymond, Jessica, Zeus, Kyren, Khole, Yahzid, and one baby girl on the way. She also had one great-grandchild, Makari. In addition, Theresa was a loving aunt/mother to a host of nieces and nephews.

Theresa leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, touching the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
