Mar 16, 1954 — Jul 21, 2022
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. --- Isaiah 40:31 THEODORA SMITH (nee Stevenson) was born in Philadelphia, PA, on March 15, 1954 to Theodore and Margaret Marie Stevenson with siblings Sylvester, Rose Marie, Patricia Ann, Margaret Lois, and Frances. Terry (as she was fondly called) was educated in the Philadelphia public school system, attending Dunlap Elementary School, Sulzberger Middle School, and Overbrook High School. She graduated from Drexel University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. After graduation, she furthered her education at the American University receiving her MBA and CPA degrees. Terry was raised in White Rock Baptist Church of Philadelphia, PA where she was baptized by Pastor William J. Shaw. Upon relocating to Maryland, she joined The People's Community Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Rev. Haywood Robinson. Terry traveled, visited, and lived in many different parts of the world. She had a very prestigious employment. She worked as a manager until she could no longer go to work. Terry was married to Carl Smith and from that union, they had one son, Carl Kijako Smith. He was the joy of her life. Terry learned to play the piano and bought a piano. She always made sure her piano was in tune. She loved to sing while playing her piano. Terry also loved to bake cookies and she was an avid reader of all kinds of books. Terry would even get up early and go jogging before work. She was very health conscious and fun loving. Terry said to her sisters, "I have never lost my faith, this is my journey." On Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Gables of Brighton in Rochester, New York, Terry peacefully entered her Heavenly home. Terry is survived by: her son, Carl Kijako (Emily) of Victor, NY; precious grandchildren; her brother, Sylvester (Clara) of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Rosemarie S.
