Thelma Mckelvey-Rogers of Philadelphia fell asleep in death December 13,2025 at the age of 96.  She was born on October 18,1929.  Thelma treasured and loved her community and  the  neighbors in particular the children. She took pride  in the beautification of her block. Thelma was straightforward and frank when giving advise.  A sincere warm friend and a pleasure to all who knew her.  Thelma was a loving and wonderful mother to daughter Mary, granddaughter Tiffany, and great grandsons Terrance and Timothy. She valued the kindness and service provided by family friend Joel.  She also valued her friendship with Simona, who shared a strong spiritual connection with her.Thelma's love of children lead her to volunteer at Head Start, and later open a family day care home.  She went on the become a foster mother to many children placed in her care by Tabor Children Services. All while self employed operating a laundry business. She was preceded in death by her only son Michael,her mother Mary,father John and her sister  Victoria. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful plants that grace her home and her meticulous care of them.  She was truly a phenomenal woman, a beautiful flower whose beauty inward and outward will always be remembered cherished.
