Obituary

SHEILA JORDAN was born to John and the late Alverta Jordan on October 28, 1968 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the youngest of four children and their only daughter. Sheila was educated in the Philadelphia public school system and graduated from Lamberton High School. She also attended Penn State University before she began working for the U. S. Department of Health & Human Services 1988. Throughout her career, Sheila received many awards and accolades. In 2019, she received the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Professional Achievement Award, and was promoted to the role of Administrative Officer for the Office of Regional Operations. She dedicated herself to her career for over 33 years. On May 16, 1992, Sheila went on a blind date with a young man named Herman Mosley. The date was orchestrated by her older brother Kareem, and Darlene Wise. It was love at first sight and they were engaged 6 months later on Thanksgiving day. They married one year after meeting, on May 16, 1993 and remained happily married for more than 28 years. From this union they had two children, Jordan Herman and Jarett Kendall Mosley. Sheila was devoted to her family. Beyond being the rock for her husband and children, Sheila was a faithful and loving caregiver to her parents. She spent countless days by her mother Alvesta's side. Whether visiting in the evenings after work, or preparing meals for holidays or Sunday dinner, they had an unbreakable bond that was admired by all who witnessed it. As Alvesta aged, Sheila cared for her until her passing in March of 2020. Sheila's infectious laugh, and generous spirit touched everyone she met. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Sheila leaves to cherish her memory: her father, John Jordan; her husband, Herman; sons, Jordan and Jarett; three brothers, Dash (Dennyce), Kareem (Stacey), and Eric (Renee); brothers-in-law, Herman Mosley Jr. the 2nd, Bruce Mosley and Derick Hancock; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
