ROVENIOUS SHAW-BYARD, was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Pa. She passed away on May 18th, 2023, due to complications from a battle with cancer and other medical issues.

She was born to Lucille and Cleveland Shaw Sr. on Oct. 6th, 1951 (both preceded in death). She was the youngest girl of eight children. (Minnie, Cleola (preceded in death), Shirley (preceded in death), Diane, Theresa (preceded in death), Lucinda and Cleveland Shaw Jr. (preceded in death).

Rovenious was educated in the Philadelphia School System. In her youth, she accepted "Jesus Christ" as her personal savior and was baptize in the Baptist faith.

Rovenious (Rogie), as her family and childhood friends affectionately called her, had two children from a previous relationship. She would later be united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Donald Byard Sr. The couple would go on to have two more children of their own. Their union would last over 44years, until her time of death.

Rovenious worked as a certified medical assistant with (Greater Philadelphia Health Action) for over 30 years. She was known as Venious or Mrs. Venious by her co-workers and friends.

She loved shopping on the home shopping networks (QVC). She continued to shop, even during her sick days. Buying things, she didn't need, but maybe one of her children could use it, was her thinking.

Rogie loved just being at home with her family. And if you really knew Rogie, you knew she had a love for music. On the weekends, her home was always filled with the sounds of music. She used to burn her own CD's. Her family now has a plethora of Rogies's greatest hits CD's, "Which they will cherish aways". She would sit in her family room, drink her glass of Riunite soft white wine with her can of beer, and just play her music "Loud". If you called the house, she never would hear the phone. She'd play, gospel, R&B, doo-wop, disco. And to top the evening off, she might end with old blue eyes "Frank Sinatra". She just loved music. Rogie was also that listening ear for those who just needed someone to listen. She'd give you her honest opinion, even if you didn't ask. She will truly be missed.

She leaves behind to mourn, her husband (Donald), four children, Monica (James), Karen, Jayson (Rachel) and Donna. Two grandchildren (Jayla and Jordyn), sisters (Minnie, Diane and Lucinda). And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
