Raymond A. Gillison, a beloved son of Philadelphia, was born on March 16, 1949, to George A. Gillison and Thelma Turner. He lived a life of honest, dedicated work — first as a longshoreman, where he contributed to the lifeblood of the city's waterfront, and later as a cook at a local hospital, where he nourished and cared for others during some of their most vulnerable moments.

Raymond passed away on March 16, 2025 — his 77th birthday — leaving behind a legacy as rich and steadfast as the work of his hands. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
