Mr Ralph Edward Monroe, the son of the late Robert Monroe and Mary Belle Monroe, was born April 28, 1940 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Lankenau Hospital, surrounded by his immediate family.
His young and teenage years were spent in Cumberland County School District in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Ralph moved to Philadelphia in 1958 where he met his wife, Lovier Rose Wright. They were married July 24, 1960, to this union three children were born, Raphael Kenneth, Maurice Edward and Anika Lechette. He had one other son, Samuel Lowrell Bailey prior to moving to Philadelphia.
Ralph was a very hard working man. He loved driving trucks, which he did for many years. He later became an entrepreneur of several businesses until he retired. Ralph was a man of style, class and humor. He was loved by all and definitely loved everyone.
He leaves loving memories to be cherished by his wife of sixty-four years, Lovier Rose Monroe; four children, Raphael Kenneth, Maurice Edward, Anika Lechette and Samuel Lowrell Bailey; six grandchildren, Sheldon, Na'Bria, Brianna, Soleil, Anginique and Andrew "Buddy"; two great-grandchildren, Solomon and Saige; one great-grand, waiting to be born; one bonus granddaughter, Kareema; his siblings, Josie Watson and Cornell (Sybie) Monroe; and his god children, David Toney and Denise Patterson.
He will be remembered by the great impact he placed on many young men lives.
Ralph loved being with and talking to his special friends, Mr. and Mrs, Ellis and Dot Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Mary Belle Monroe; six brothers, Robert, Arthur, Charles, James, Lynn and Raymond.
Ralph will also be remembered by his one brother-in-law, Thomas Wright; and five sisters-in-law, Mary Wilder, Carolyn Cromedy, Annie Joyce Dickson, Linda Daniels and Dawn Johnson.
