Ralph Howard Lee was born into this world a child of God on August 2, 1937 in North Philadelphia. His mother, Anna Grant Lee and his father, Ralph Ballard Lee, were excited to receive their first child. He was baptized in his early childhood at Bethel AME church in Lansdowne, PA after moving to Yeadon. He received his early education at Wiliam B. Evans school there and later at Yeadon Junior/Senior High School where he graduated in 1955. As a boy he played with his best friend Sonny (General John Henry Stanford) now deceased. Ralph acquired the nickname "General" in high school (having nothing to do with Sonny) while playing football. He shared fond memories of his football coach, John Nagley.

Ralph spent some time at Penn State University, Ogontz Center campus but decided to go into the Army before finishing. He served as a medical specialist in Germany and at home in the U.S. Army Reserves 348th General Hospital. He served 24 years at the Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO). He also had a sense of duty and civic responsibility. This was demonstrated by his volunteering for seven years as a precinct elections judge.

Ralph's life changed for the better when he met and married in 1966 his wife, Teresa Lee. She bought to their union 2 small boys, Evans and Charles. They added to their family 2 more boys, Anthony and Ralph, Jr. He adored all four of his children and had many activities together for he liked to have fun. He enjoyed swimming at the Nile Swim Club in Yeadon and at his place in the Pocono Mountains, Split Rock, where he and his wife also entertained his sister and brother-in-law in addition to their sons and other family members. Ralph and Terry went with Janet and Vernon on bus trips to Niagara Falls, Canada and to New Orleans, Louisiana. They travelled with them on a couple of cruises, one to the Caribbean and another to the Mediterranean. Ralph loved travel and meeting people and didn't waste a minute engaging them into conversations.

The loss of Ralph is a loss to many, family and friends. He leaves to mourn his death his sons, grandson and granddaughters, Evans (now deceased), Charles and his wife, Yoanni and Ralph, Jr., Charles, Jr., Monique( Roberto) , Jessica, Desirae (Lloyd) (all of Philadelphia) and his son Anthony and his wife Sandy, children Donovan, Jazmin (all of Florida), Muriel (Antonio) (Virginia), Anthony Jr. (Raquel) (Texas), his sister Janet Lee Ricks and husband Vernon of Potomac, Maryland, his niece Aña (Chris) (Georgia).There are many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, too numerous to name. We all say farewell for now and see-you-later because we do intend to see you again!
