Quincy Rufus Jacobs, born on May 10, 1947, to Evelyn Tolor and Willie Columbus Jacobs in Philadelphia. He grew up on 4835 Ogden St.

He was the beloved oldest sibling of five, preceded in death by his siblings Silency Jacobs and

Carolyn Jacobs and his parents. He is survived by his two younger siblings, Robert Jacobs and

Loretta Jacobs.

Quincy's educational journey began at Our Mother Sorrows Catholic School and later he proudly

graduated from Overbrook High School. Following his passion for music, Quincy embarked on a

successful career as a guitarist, joining the band "The Company." He formed a close bond with

his dear friend James Solomon, collaborating on music and melodies. Quincy also cherished his

friendship with his bandmates Noble Watson, Theodore Agnew, George Bailey, and Hannah

Brown.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Quincy worked as a courier at the University of Medicine and

Dentistry in New Jersey. He dedicated many years to the institution before retiring in 2012.

In the early 1980s, Quincy found love in the eyes of Justine McClelland. They exchanged vows

on August 26, 2000, and settled in their new home in Yeadon, PA. Music was the heart and soul

of Quincy's life; he was inseparable from his guitar. He played alongside renowned musicians,

traveling to various places and experiencing the wonders of the world. Quincy's eyes would light

up every time he touched the strings, and his music brought joy to countless gatherings.

Quincy Rufus Jacobs had a special bond with his dear friends, James and Noble. Throughout

his life, they stood by his side through all the ups and downs, providing unwavering support and

love. Even in his last days, James and Noble remained by his side, offering comfort and

companionship. Their friendship was a source of strength and solace, demonstrating the true

meaning of loyalty and friendship. Quincy cherished the memories they shared and was grateful

for their presence in his life until the very end.

In addition to his cherished friends James and Noble, Quincy Rufus Jacobs also had a special

bond with his beloved brother, Robert, whom he affectionately called Bob. Bob was more than

just a brother to Quincy; he was his confidant, partner in crime, and closest companion.

Quincy was known for his kindness, gentleness, and soft-spoken nature. He always pursued his

ambitions with determination and had a clear vision of what he wanted in life. He possessed a

giving and selfless spirit, always willing to share his possessions and time with those who loved

him.

In addition to his extended family, Quincy Rufus Jacobs was a loving father figure to two

stepdaughters and one stepson. Although he did not have any biological children, he embraced

his role as a father wholeheartedly. Quincy is survived by his two paternal aunts, Irma Jean

Kitchen and Willie Kilgo, as well as his uncle Elijah Jacobs. He leaves behind his nieces

Geniece Jacobs and Sauncia McCall, and his nephew Robert Jacobs Jr. He also had a

brother-in-law named Byron McCall and a sister-in-law named Cassandra Dorothy.
