Pearline McCauley entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Her journey had ended and she gave a wave and said goodbye. Pearline was the only child of Irene Winslow Smith, deceased. Pearline grew up in Deans, Virginia. She was baptized in Shoulders Hill Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia at an early age. She had one of the highest records of attendance in Sunday School. There was no excuse for not attending, because the Superintendent would come for her. However, she was given the privilege of not attending on the Fifth Sunday. Throughout her life, she always said that I may or may not go to church today because it is Fifth Sunday. She graduated from East Suffolk High School and after graduation she moved to New York seeking employment and remained there for two years. She returned to Virginia after a brief illness. Since there were no job opportunities there, she came to Philadelphia. She soon found employment and enrolled and graduated from the Pioneer Business School. After she graduated from Pioneer, she attended night classes at the Community College of Philadelphia for two years. She worked for the City of Philadelphia for a year and was employed by the Federal Government for thirty-six years. Her first job with the Federal government was at the Internal Revenue Service. Seeking better opportunities, she transferred to the Health and Human Services Department, Public Health Service Agency, Region III. She started as secretary to the Administrative Officer and later was promoted to be the Administrative Officer for Public Health Service. She served in that position from 1984 until her retirement in 1997. She earned numerous citations and awards for outstanding performances during her tenure. She sincerely enjoyed her job with its many responsibilities and challenges. Her retirement lasted for a year before she started to work in February 1998 as part-time secretary for her church, Zion Hill Baptist, where she remained for the next 10 years and retired again February 2008. She enjoyed working for her church with its many responsibilities and learning how to operate the computer, which she mainly taught herself. After retirement from Zion Hill, she continued to do the church bulletins and other work until they hired a secretary. Having fulfilled her life's mission, she entered into eternal rest. Her husband, Fred and her son, Tracy preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Donald and Michael; grandchildren, Shadonna, Tiera, Teasia, Arianah, Zy'eir, AaNiya, Serenity and Noah; one great grandson, Ty'Shawn; and a host of cousins. At my new address there is peace, joy and happiness. My Heavenly Father is here in all His glory. I pray that you get to move here yourself one day. So keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. When you must come this way alone. I'll greet you with a smile and say, "Welcome Home" Goodbye for now, Love you
