Obituary

PAULETTE MURRELL, married to James Murrell was born November 18, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Nathan and Ethel Pailin. She was the eldest of 8 children. Paulette departed this precious life to enter a new realm on October 13, 2022, where she is now reunited with her parents, two sisters: Faith Pailin and Otella (Sha Sha) Waller and brother Nathan (Ambrose) Pailin who preceded her in death. She leaves her other siblings: Claudia Lewis (Jan), Gerald (Jerry) Pailin, Harry Van Pailin, and Eldred (Sugar Foot) Pailin (Rochelle) behind to hold up the fort. Paulette attended the Philadelphia Public School System: Francis Scott Key Elementary, Furnace Jr. High, and South Philadelphia High School.

Paulette took on a role of a mommy at the tender age of 23 when she was asked to raise her only child Terrell Carla Ford Robinson due to the death of parents. She and her first husband Robert Evans accepted their roles and responsibilities, and thus the adventures began. She was dedicated and diligent to make sure that Terry had everything she needed and more, from education to play dates.

The Queen Mother of 7th and Winton to whom all flocked to her presence for love, guidance, wisdom and care, Aunt Paulette, as she was affectionally called, loved to give to her nieces and nephews. She wanted to see them happy and to listen to them echo her name every time she stepped foot onto Winton Street with a whole bunch of bags of goodie, toys and clothes, must have been a sweet melodious sound to her ears. Yes, she assumed the role of a mother to them as well.

Her hobbies consisted of Crocheting, collecting clowns (She actually had a room housed with just her clowns), and throwing holiday parties! She went all out for the 4th of July every year, Halloween parties for the kids on the block, New Years, Easter, etc.… And the parties MUST have her favorite food; Chicken!!!! She loved to crotchet blankets for all newborns in the community as well as making cute little outfits to go with them. Her talents didn't stop there, she was an extraordinary interior designer. Once you walk into her home from the hustle and bustle of life, you felt that you were royalty; and all of that on a budget! Not only did she love the finer looking things in life, but she also dressed to par as well. Paulette did not step foot outside until she was on pointe from head to toe!

Paulette left to mourn her devoted husband James Murrell, Sister-in-law Gloria Simmons, Daughter Terrell C. Robinson, Grandchildren Jessica Joi Robinson and Eric Isaiah Robinson, a nephew she helped raised Eric Lemont Johnson as well as her sister's Faith children: Robert Pailin, Nathan Pailin, Claudia Pailin, a special niece Paulette Pailin (Princess), A sidekick niece Kimberly (Twinkles) Pugh, and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces, cousins and a tight community of friends. She will be truly missed. We love you forever, Paulette. Rest Well, you deserve it Beautiful Queen.
