PARKER MORRIS SATCHELL entered eternal rest on June 7, 2023, following a brief illness. He was the second oldest child born to Alice Satchell, Eastville, Virginia, December 13, 1940. Parker was educated in the public schools in Machipongo--graduating from Northampton County High (NCHS) with the class of 1959. While at NCHS, Parker was a member of the high school chorus and band (he played the trumpet). Upon graduation, Parker attended Bowie State College. Following his stint at Bowie, he began working at the Washington Post where he remained for many years.

Parker spent the greater part of his life as a resident of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, where he shared the past decades with his partner Dorothy Stuckey who transitioned in 2021. He was a generous soul who would lend a hand to anyone that he felt needed one. Parker possessed quite a unique sense of humor which was appreciated by those who knew him well (smile). Parker enjoyed regularly playing dominos with his sister Althea and friends. In fact, he beat her by four games a few days prior to his transition. Parker was a person who was well-liked and respected by many of his neighbors on Horton Street.

Siblings left to treasure his memory are his devoted sister Althea Mendoza and Elizabeth Satchell. Other relatives and friends left to treasurer his memory are his niece Althea Nannette Morgan; nephews, Troy Eric Satchell, Randolph and Angela Satchell, Carlos A. Mendoza and Douglas B. Satchell; his very special and only Aunt, Dorothy Roselle Bell; first cousins, Phyllis Bell Townsend, Wayne Curtis and Charlotte Bell, Wynola and Elton Wyatt, Marvin and Linda Satchell, Carolyn Satchell, Lawrence Satchell, Milton Hatcher; great nieces and nephews, Monét Morris, Niko Perry, Schylar Satchell, Bachar Satchell, Lisa Satchell, Shaneé Satchell, Isaac Mendoza, Aaron Mendoza, Aja Mendoza, Cameron Mendoza, Connor Mendoza, Annah Mendoza; special friend and mentee, Benjamin (Butch) F. Major; surrogate step-daughter, McPhine Gilbert and countless other family members and friends.

Parker's mother Alice Watson Satchell and two brothers: Roger Lee Satchell and Randolph Bennie Satchell predeceased him.
