Michael was born on July 31st, 1953 to Michael and Eleanor Miles in Philadelphia PA, where he was raised. He graduated from West Philly High School. Following High School, Michael joined the United States Air Force, a service that he was always so proud to have served. He then began to work at PECO, an electrical plant, until he retired in 2010. Following his service he also met his wife Yvetta, whom he married in 1996, and lived as a family man until his passing. Michael was a man who loved comedy and movies. He could name almost any actor, as well as the many movies or shows they were in. He was a huge football fan, and greatly looked forward to participating in his yearly fantasy football league. He loved music, especially Jazz and old school R&B and soul. He enjoyed playing pool, and when relaxing at home you could often find him doing a Soduku puzzle. Most importantly he loved a good meal! Michael was very knowledgeable in math and science, and always loved to further his education more in history and astronomy. He greatly valued family time, and was always willing and ready to help his loved ones when in need. Michael Maurice Miles passed away at age 71 on April 1st, 2025 at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Michael was survived by his wife of 28 years, Yvetta Barbee-Miles; his daughters, Nicole Reed, Dashair Miles, Derrian Madre, and Ayanna Barbee; his son Saimeen Barbee; his 6 grandsons Keandre Ferguson, Juwan Branch, Isaiah Branch, Jayden Branch, Davion Taylor and Christopher Reed. His siblings Cynthia Bronson, and Anthony Miles, as well as many other loved ones.
