Mary Ann McIntyre, affectionately known as "Bubbles," passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at the age of 78 after a lengthy illness.
Mary was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was born January 1st, ,1947 to the late Harrison and Fannie Jane McIntyre. The youngest of five siblings, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Penn and Anita Mack.
Mary graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School in 1964 and began her career with the IRS before finding her professional home at Beneficial/Household, where she worked until retiring at age 60.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Mary's greatest joys were her daughter Tiffany and grandson Andrew. She was a longtime Girl Scout leader and a vibrant member of the Star Harbor Senior Community Center and the Red Hat Society. In retirement, she embraced tap dancing, learned Spanish, and volunteered at local food pantries. Her love of R&B music, poetry, and dancing brought joy to everyone around her.
Mary was a passionate traveler whose curiosity and zest for life took her across the globe. Before her illness, she explored the vibrant shores of Aruba, the rich culture of Spain, the majestic landscapes of Alaska, and the charming beauty of Nova Scotia. Her wanderlust also led her to countless destinations across the United States, each journey adding to the tapestry of memories she cherished. Whether cruising the seas or discovering new cities, Mary embraced every adventure with joy and wonder.
Mary is survived by her daughter Tiffany McIntyre, grandson Andrew McIntyre, brother James McIntyre, sister Virginia Talley, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her lively spirit and beautiful soul will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
