"God will go before you; Walk beside you; Stand behind you; I am with you always"

Matthew 28:20

LYNWOOD SAVAGE was born in Philadelphia, Pa on September 4th 1954 to the late Vernon Savage, and Anna R. Savage Bennett. Sadly, Lynwood lost his fight to cancer on February 5th at 12:47 pm and he went peacefully at home with his wife, and children at his bedside.

He was affectionately known as "Lyn" or "Woody" by his close friends, and family. Lynwood grew up in the Philadelphia public school system where he then graduated from Overbrook High School. Shortly after graduating Lyn went on to attend community college where he obtained his Associates Degree. While attending college Lyn decided to head back to one of his neighborhood schools Beeber Middle School where he became an NTA for many many years.

Lyn found his love for politics, and ran for committee men of the 34th ward which he held that position for well over 35 years. Lyn then went on to pursue a career in law enforcement for Philadelphia traffic court under his predecessor the late Chief Rocellus Ricks. Lynwood, and his partner Nikki were even filmed by "COPS" the well known tv show while working and serving warrants. Then he went on to the Philadelphia sheriff department. While in the sheriff's department Lyn decided to run for state representative, and won the race. On April 5th, 2016 Lynwood was sworn in as a member of the Pennsylvania house of representatives for the 34th ward, 192nd district. This was one of Lyn's proudest moments of his career.

Lyn married the love of his life Stephanie, and they joined in holy matrimony on July 9th 2005. From this union they had two children Jeremy, and Breanna. Lyn had two other children from a previous marriage, Justin, and Sierra. Lynwood was a faithful, and devoted Husband, and Father, and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his family and dearest friends.

Some of Lyn's favorite pastimes were cooking, fishing, going to the flea markets, watching old cowboy movies, entertaining, and having fun with the people he loved, and traveling with his family.

Lyn was the youngest of seven brothers, three which have preceded him in death Howard Savage, Bobby Savage, and Vernon Savage. Lyn will be especially missed by his loving and devoted Wife Stephanie Savage, His six children Justin Savage, Sierra Savage, Jeremy Savage, and Breanna Savage. His 3 grandchildren MJ, Gabby, and Bellamy. His four brothers George, Tyrone, Richard, and Milton. Two sister in-laws Jean Savage, and Michelle Savage. Three Brother in-laws Stanley, Daryl, and Kenny. One mother-in-law Brenda. Two childhood friends Robert Bell, and Malcolm Jennings. Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and a host of family, friends and constituents.
