Obituary

Linda Hall, affectionately known as Candy, was born on August 23, 1949, in Philadelphia, to the late Thomas and Mildred Chambers. She departed this life on February 19, 2026, on her late husband's birthday, a tender reminder of the unbreakable bond they shared.

Candy was the only child of her parents, born and raised in South Philadelphia, where she received her education through the Philadelphia public school system.

In 1963, Candy met her forever love, Raphael known to everyone as Rayfield. They married in 1970 and from this union they welcomed 2 daughters, who became the center of Candy's world.

After High School, Candy explored various jobs, but her true calling was always helping people.  She began a career at the Dixon House as a volunteer where she dedicated herself to uplifting her community. Her passion for wanting to help others led to her becoming the committeewoman for the 36th ward.  Her kindness, dedication and unwavering compassion touched countless lives.

After her daughters began attending school full time, Candy embarked on a long and meaningful career with the City of Philadelphia. Following her retirement, she continued her spirit of service by volunteering at her granddaughter's school.

Candy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raphael, her sister-in-law, Florina Walker, brother in laws, John, James, and Jeffery Hall.

Candy leaves behind a lasting impact and countless memories.  She is survived by her daughters, Rae (Jeff) Danielle (John), Granddaughters, Skylar and Avery, 2 bonus sisters, Shirley "Lotta" and Maria (Louis), Brother-in-Law George (Delores), Sister-in-Law Alice, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

Candy's life was a reflection of love and generosity, a legacy that will live on in all who were blessed to know her. She loved her children and family with warmth, honesty, and fierce devotion.  Though she will be profoundly missed, her memory and the love she gave will remain in our hearts forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to Candy's Memorial Service at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 7th, at Gospel Temple Baptist Church, 1327 S. 19th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146.
