The Life Story
LICHI FULMORE BOGGS
LICHI was born in Kingstree, South Carolina on August 30,
1935, the seventh child of thirteen and the last one to go home to
be with the Lord. Lichi was the daughter of Quinton B. Fulmore and
Leather McClary Fulmore. The Fulmore family moved from
Kingstree, South Carolina in 1942 to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Lichi was educated in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania School
System. She attended Blankenburg Elementary School, Sulzberger
Jr. High School and John Bartram High School. She met and
married Henry W. Boggs, Sr. in 1954, he preceded her in death. To
this union there were eight children and she became mother to four
more children, two preceded her in death, Victoria Denise Boggs-
Knighton and Edward McClary.
Lichi dedicated her life to Christ and joined Second Antioch
Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Reverend Davis
DeBrady on October 9, 1952. In 2001, Reverend Joe E. Nock
became pastor, where Lichi remained there until she became ill.
She was a member of the Usher Board. Lichi was a great cook,
baker, hairdresser and seamstress for her children, family and
neighbors children as well.
Lichi loved to travel for family reunions and vacation, she was a
very comical person that kept people laughing, she was loved by all
who met and knew her.
In later years, she worked and retired from Jefferson Park
Hospital in the Housekeeping Department.
Lichi leaves to carry on her family, Phyllis (Alan) Delaware,
Henry Jr. (Patricia) Philadelphia, Kimberly of Philadelphia,
Carolyn (Rudolph) of North Carolina, Derrick Sr. (Jackie) of
Philadelphia, Alicia of Philadelphia, Cecilia Case Of Philadelphia,
Edward Stone of Philadelphia, Reginald Stone of Philadelphia,
Monique Stone of Philadelphia; a granddaughter-in-law, 50
grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; niece, nephews and
cousins; two life long friends, Mrs. Vivian McCord and Rudine
Tucker; other relatives and friends.
