LEWGEANA (JEAN) PRICE GILLIS, ALSTON, BURNETTE JEAN was born in Philadelphia on August 10, 1939, to the late Edward and Letitia Price. Jean was the oldest of four siblings Rosalie, Lauren and her brother Tyrone passed away in 1992.
Jean was educated in the Philadelphia School System Graduating from Overbrook High School in June 1957 Also Graduated from CLC Computer School in 1996.
Jean was married to Leroy Gillis in 1960 and 1972 married Henry Aston and in 1982 she met Ralph C. Burnette later they were married and have been together ever since until his death.
Jean was employed at a Sweater Factory for 10 years. Jean then became a Telephone Operator for another 10 years at an Answering Service Company. Jean started as a Telephone Operator for 7 years at Presbyterian Medical Center. Jean later transferred to the Nursing Department and became the Unit Clerk. After 20 years Jean retired as a Health Unit Coordinator. After that Jean went back to a telephone operator at Episcopal Campus of Temple University Hospital.
Jean had a very productive life she was the proud mother of four children and Grandmother of 11 Grands and 22 Great Grands. Jean was a member of Greater Faith Baptist Church.
Jean love Arts and Crafts also, crocheted many things without no pattern as well as making flower arrangements. Jean love taking pictures she was amateur photographer. Jean love to Bowl she belong to the Women's Classic League at Gerghis Lanes.
Jean was a High rank Eastern Star belonging to the Prince Hall Masonic Family. Jean was a PMAM Of HOJ. A Past RC of Cyrene's APRPM of LOOOP #3 A member of Martha #3 OES A member of The Golden Circle #5 A member of the Bowling Unit.
Jean was fortunate to have a few good friends. Anna Forrest, Clara Huggins, Annette Jenkins, and Connie Dickerson Hopper.
Jeans parents Edward and Letitia Price, one brother Tyrone, one sister Rosalie, one good friend Annette Jenkins and her husband Ralph C. Burnette who all proceeded her in death.
Jean leaves to Cherish and Honor in her memory: her children, Terrance Price, Tracy Gillis, Antoinette Stamps and Esther Alston; one son-in-law, Ronald Stamps; her sister, Lauren Wiles; two brothers-in-law, Jessie Wiles and Reverend Frank Talbert. Jean was a grandma to Frank, Angie, Ashley, Julius, Tori, Shonnie, Christiana, Benaiah, Micaiah, twins Mariah, and Elijah; Great-grandma to 22 great-grandchildren; 4 nephews Pastor Frank, Paris, Pastor Troy, and Arturo; and 1 niece, Maria; a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends
