Lee
Henderson
Jan 15, 1939 — Jul 5, 2021
LEE HENRY HENDERSON was born in Lena, Mississippi on January 15, 1939 to John and Sadie Henderson. Lee, playfully known by his brothers and sisters as "Zeke", after graduating from high school, decided to move to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to join some of his brothers that had already relocated to Philly, and initially stayed with his brother, Edgar Henderson. In 1961, Lee joined the United States Navy where he served honorably for four years. During his journey in the Navy Lee met his first wife, Anna Marie. Through their union his first son Kenneth Henderson was born. Lee ended his Naval Career in 1965 and found a job working as an Electrician at the Philadelphia International Airport. Later he started working for General Electric. While working at General Electric he met the love of his life Delaine. Lee and Delaine got married on August 10th 1970 and had two sons, Clay and Sean Henderson. Lee started working for the City of Philadelphia as a Construction Electrical Inspector. He retired from the City of Philadelphia in 2004. Lee was an inventive man who adored his family. This was demonstrated by the great care that he took caring for his wife, and three of his brothers that had medical issues. "Zeke" was always known to make people laugh. He would bring nothing but smiles into a room, even while playing Chess and beating all of his opponents. After four years of battling Dementia, God called him home. Lee's legacy will live on thru his family that will forever love him. He will always remain in their hearts. Lee leaves to mourn his three sons, Kenneth, Clay (Kimberly) and Sean (Monaya); his sister Dorothy Evans; four grandchildren, Sydney, Ahmani, Akil, and Clay Jr. Preceding him in death was John and Sadie Henderson (parents); Delaine Henderson (wife); nine brothers - John, Paul, Edgar, Booker, Owen, Willie Jay, Leneal Sr., Eugene, Hoy, and one sister Dora (Henderson) Reed.
