Lamont was born November 4, 1962 in Philadelphia, PA to Elizabeth Scantling and Pete Dixon.

He was born and raised in Philadelphia where he attended West Philadelphia High School. He also served in the United States Army (special forces). He was well known for his career as a bodyguard and bodybuilder. He was also a bus driver for the school district of Philadelphia.

He was predeceased by mother Elizabeth Scantling, father Pete Dixon, brothers Petey Dixon and Thomas Mumford, and sister Dee Dixon.

Lamont was a devoted family man and loyal friend. He loved hard and protected his family. Lamont was a funny person (jokester) and loved making you laugh. He was patient and always had stories to tell. He was a good listener, advisor, and spiritual person who knew God (his father). If you grew up with him, you know that he loved Michael Jackson and was his impersonator.

His hobbies were going to the gym, playing basketball, playing cards and loved dressing up.

Lamont passed away peacefully and gained his wings on June 27, 2023.

He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Denise Jones, step daughters Zakia and Samia Jones, step father Ottomer Mumford, brother Arnold Rhodes, sisters Dollie Dixon, Regina and Melinda Mumford, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

His favorite cousins are Freddy Scantling, Kevin Walker, James and Robert Simmons, nieces Sontay Rhodes-Parrish and Rashida Thomas, and nephew Norman Hart II.
