Obituary

The Obituary Kirk Maurice Wilson was born on January 24, 1960 to John and Evelyn Wilson, both who preceded him in death. Kirk was a kind, caring, and mischievous child. He was so book smart. Kirk, whose favorite subject was math, frequently got his homework done faster than his brothers and sisters. He was at the top of his class, winning several awards. Kirk also kept busy with activities in the scouts, basketball, soccer, and football, where he also received awards. Kirk graduated from Overbrook High School as a magnet student and was Valedictorian of his class. He then went to Penn State for two years, where he pledged with the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Kirk left college to join the Air Force, where he served for some time. Kirk's first job was at the Hart Boy Scout Reservation as a Camp Counselor. He held several jobs over the years, until he found a work life with Newman Company as a forklift driver for 10+ years where he later retired. Kirk was a family man. Taking care of four children was a task by himself but his kids were his life. His last job was becoming a fulltime single father and he was proud to do so. Kirk was a fly dresser, always well dressed, well groomed, and he loved his dress shoe collection that he kept polished and shined. Kirk loved to watch movies, watch sports, have cookouts, crack jokes, and to have a good time. He welcomed any and everyone. Sharing his love, he would always tell it like it was with no regrets. Kirk lived for his family, especially his grandchildren who kept him on the go. On December 17, 2021, Kirk transitioned from this life. Kirk leaves to cherish his memory and his life; five children, Tamika Perry, who preceded him death; Kaliff, Kirchelle, Kirlim, and Kirdia Wilson; his brothers, Keith, Karry, Kevin, and Karl Wilson; his sisters, Denise and Donna Wilson; sisters-in-law Jaye, Leslie, and Mary Wilson; brother-in-law, Charles Frierson; son-in-law, Devoune Handy, who preceded him in death; daughter-in-law India Kearney; twelve grandchildren, Walif Allen, Jahneya Whitaker, Tyra Wilson, Corey Ford Jr., Lah'nih Mallory, Darian Brown Jr., Kay'lynn Wilson, Wynter Johnson, Kaliff Wilson Jr., Nideen Johnson, Karsin Wilson-Handy, and Nuri Johnson; great grandchild, Kylie Jones, the mother of his children, Tammie Childs; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
