JOHN EMERY WALLACE JR. was born on December 28th 1950 in Philadelphia, PA to Mary Elizabeth Dunn Wallace and John Emery Wallace Sr. He departed this life peacefully in his sleep on September 6th, 2023 at Penn University Hospital at the age of 72 years old following his bout with Liver Cancer.

John, a.k.a. HoneyboySug, attended West Philadelphia area Public Schools and was gifted in many things such as Architecture, Basketball and Bodybuilding (known as Husk) but Bike riding was what he loved the most. He was recruited by major firms for Architecture but made the decision to join United States Navy where he served his country well and was honorably discharged.

John was employed by MV Transportation for 25 years before retiring at 65 to enjoy time with his 5 grandchildren. He was a die hard Eagles fan and loved to watch the games while eating drinking and laughing with his children. Though very much secluded and to himself he enjoyed sitting on the porch catching up with friends, family and neighbors.

John is preceded in death by his Parents; beloved wife, Lynette Renee Whitney; and sisters, Anna Green Wallace and Mary Wallace.

He leaves to grieve and cherish his memory: his children, Jon Wallace, Aaron Wallace and Alis Wallace; his daughter-in-law, Laura Wallace; his dear siblings, Barbra Wallace, Timothy Wallace, Sheila Wallace Nealy, Tina Wallace Gilmore and Debra Wallace Newton; grandchildren, Jamir, Solange, Sasha, Jalissa and Sharief. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John will be unbearably missed and his memory will be cherished by all those who knew and loved him unconditionally.
