Jennifer
Riley
Aug 10, 1971 — Jul 14, 2021
JENNIFER RILEY was last of five children born on August 10, 1971 to Margret and Thomas McKiernan III at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Along with her siblings, Thomas IV, Bernard, Martin and Maria they grew up with an education in the Philadelphia school district. She graduated with her high school diploma from Notre Dame Academy. Jennifer was a machinist by trade but possessed a slew of skills including home improvement, problem solving, and party planning. After attending Holy family College, Jennifer became one of the most sought after certified nursing assistants (CNA) for almost thirty years. Her name was famous throughout agencies, nursing homes and households; health care professionals valued her insight, expertise, compassion and of course sense of humor. Along the way Jennifer suffered life's tragedies; she felt great success and through her pains inspired the people and families around her. She gave birth to three amazing boys, Kevin (Rocky) Sommerer, and Eddie and Alec Borschell. Later on she met the love of her life Eugene, her now husband and his daughter Geanina. They had the legendary last child Jenna and became a complete family with a house full of pets to boot. She raised 5 kids of her own while managing to take care of other children as well. Jennifer was generous and kind hearted as she always made space in her home for a friend or kin in need. She was a full-time mother held in the highest regard for her nurturing and her unbelievable cooking. On cold days her family would bust through the door to her infamous pot of soup or chili; summertime you could find her prepping for a family vacation to the lake or hosting a cookout. Traditions were formalized with the love. Family and friends admired her brilliance and candor. When you enter the Riley home, Jennifer's influence radiates throughout the space with household plants, homemade crafts as interior designs, and her beloved rooster collection. She taught her family crafting, cooking, honesty, and courage. She knew what it was like to have very little so Jennifer and Eugene opened their hearts and home to all who needed help in any capacity. After forty-nine years of life on this earth with fifteen years of marriage included, Jennifer and Eugene raised most of their kids to adulthood and were on their way to completing the finale. Sorrowfully, on July 14th after a long fight with medical issues she left us here on earth and transitioned to the next realm. Jennifer fought long and hard, and for that we are thankful. On July 23, 2021 we celebrate the life and passing of Jennifer Riley, she will be missed and forever appreciated for the impact she left on everyone in her presence.
