Very quietly and peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Almighty God and His infinite wisdom reached down and called his child JAMES E. LAKE.

James was born November 6, 1936 to the late Essie and Wilson Lake, both of Newberry, South Carolina.

He was educated in the Philadelphia School System and attended Overbrook Senior High School.

He worked in construction until 1972. He started his own business, Lake Roofing Co.

He purchased homes in North and West Philadelphia. Between the roofing business and being a landlord, he met numerous people.

James married Theresa Ravenell in 2020.

He was the last of seven brothers and sisters. He leaves to his passing: his three children, Tyrone, Veronica an Andre; grandchildren, Tajuana, Cameron and Mara; his wife, Theresa Ravenell; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
