HENRY THOMAS TERRELL was born on December 13, 1939 in Covington, GA. He was the oldest of three children to the late John Henry Terrell and Elzora Terrell. Henry peacefully transitioned on September 11, 2023.
Henry attended Newton Elementary, Charles Richard Drew, and Selsberger Jr. High School in Philadelphia, Pa.
Henry united in marriage with Carol Terrell in 1960 and of this union one child was born, Brian.
Henry had a multifaceted career consisting of hospitality, professional drummer, music producer, manager, and entrepreneur.
Henry was full of knowledge and stories of his experiences in the music business. His most treasured memories were working with Sigma Sound Studios, Norman Harris, Kathleen Prattis, Billy Hawks, Leroy Hawks, Kenny Gamble and Earl Young. Henry earned two gold records for his talents shared on Billy Hawks- The New Genius Of The Blues Prestige(1966) and Billy Hawks Heavy Soul (1968). Henry also was the proud originator of his band The Terrell Raiders which he traveled to many places performing.
Henry's entrepreneurship was displayed with the spearheading of his clothing business Things to Wear which was in the forms of a mobile truck and store front. Henry specialized in unique
clothing styles which included custom air brush designs and custom splatter paint sneakers.
Henry was aided by his lead airbrush artist Derrick. Henry was recognized for his work by Philadelphia Dresses the World awarded by Mayor W. Wilson Goode. Henry also created tutorial videos to teach others how to embark on the same journey.
Henry's most enjoyed hobbies were computer operations and the Garden State Racetrack horse races.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Carol Terrell, parents John Henry Terrell, Elzora Terrell, One Sister Attie Boseman and Edward Boseman Sr. all preceded in death. One loving brother M.B Terrell. Two children Brian Terrell (Donna), Helen Gill (Jeremiah). Three Grandchildren Crystal Vernon (Lamont), Bria Terrell, Tyler Gill. Three Great Grandchildren Adam, Eva, and Aidan, Unwavering friend Darlene Rice and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
