George Author Davis was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Jeff and Wycesso Davis. He was the second child to be born of that union.

After attending a Philadelphia Public School, George attended Community College of Philadelphia and earned a degree in Criminal Justice with minors in Social Science & Creative Writing. He also completed the law enforcement training, the Federal Protective Service gave at FLETC.

From 1988 to Retirement, George served as a Police Officer first in Philadelphia PA, and then in Tampa Florida where he served as the Lead Police Officer, a Police Force Instructor, and a Field Training Officer. George became a proud member of the International Defensive Pistol Active Member Association IALEFI.

During his time of service, George provided valuable support to the relief efforts of FEMA during the Hurricane Andrew Relief Operations in 1993. In 1995, he courageously participated as a team member in the aftermath of the April 19 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. In 2001, George bravely managed the security demands in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, commonly known as 9/11, where a terrorist attack was carried out against the United States.

After 20 years of dedicated service to the Federal Protective Service ICE US Department of Homeland Security, George retired and became a loyal supporter of the American Red Cross in which he responded to disasters, helped patients, and reconnected families.

He also became a self-published author while living in Tampa, Florida. He published nine books, four short stories, and one play. He won a Third Place Award in the Tampa Writers Alliance's 23rd Annual Writing Contest.

His last book published in 2022 is titled "A Collection of Micro and Flash Fictions".

In each book, he would write his dedication in three words, "To My Family".

George A. Davis passed away peacefully among his family in Pennsylvania on June 10, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Wycesso Davis, his three brothers Arrelious Davis, Bernard Davis, and Randolph Davis, and one sister-in-law Lillian Davis.

He leaves to mourn: his brother Jeffery Davis, his two sisters-in-law Bea Davis and Angela Davis A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
