GABRELLE TURNER was born to Godfrey and Willa Johnson in Fayetteville, NC on April 25, 1923. Gabrelle had one sister and two brothers, Estelle, Godfrey Jr. and Henry. Her mother and father died when she was a young girl. Her brother Godfrey Jr. and sister, Estelle died before she became a teenager. Gabrelle and Henry was raised by an aunt. She had some schooling in Richmond, Virginia. Later she had three children of her own, James (deceased) Godfrey and Althea. She moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she met her husband, James A. Austin, a serviceman. In 1952 they lived in Germany until moving to Washington DC in 1955. Gabrelle moved back to Philadelphia with her daughter. She brought a house on Robinson Street in 1962. She worked as a domestic for two families. After retiring, one family insisted on her to visit them often. She attended House of Prayer Church for many years and later attended Calvary Church. Gabrelle met and married Donald Turner. They The Obituary had six years of togetherness until he passed away. Gabrelle, at the age of 99, still living on Robinson Street for 60 years, lying in her bed, God decided that it was time for her to come with Him. She leaves her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, a niece, cousins and a host of caring friends.
