Obituary

Almighty God in His infinite wisdom called our beloved Dorothy M. Smith home on June 10, 2025 to join with Him for eternity.

Dorothy was born November 15, 1944 to the late George Elwood and Eliza Estelle (nee King) Williams. She was the youngest of three (3) children. Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers George "Rafi" Williams and Alfred "Tiny" Williams.

Dorothy was born and lived in Philadelphia. She grew up surrounded by the love of her mother and aunts whom she considered her personal angels. She was educated through the Archdiocese of Philadelphia school system and received her Associates Degree from the Community College of Philadelphia.

She went on to become a Court Clerk with the City of Philadelphia Court System for 37 years before retiring.

She married the late Norman W. Smith on October 23, 1965 and from this union they became the proud parents of Jason W. Smith.

She loved entertaining and Christmas, and was very family-oriented. One of her many interests was Mickey and Minnie Mouse and it was on her bucket list to join them on a Disney cruise. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking shows, singing along to the radio, helping others, and traveling locally.

Dorothy will be greatly mourned by her beloved son Jason (Theresa Harkins) Smith, her god-son Troy D. (Mila Dukes) Perry and a host of family and close friends who were more like sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass, Monday, June 23, 2025 at St. Cyprian Church, 525 S. 63rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19143. Viewing will be held in church beginning at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment at Westminster Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Philabundance (www.philabundance.org) or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
