Dorothy "Dottie" Johnson was born on February 18th, 1940 to the late Dorothy and William Stowe Sr.

She was educated in the Philadelphia public school system, while growing up in West Philadelphia, born and raised. She attended Martha Washington Elementary school, Sulzberger Jr. High school and West Philadelphia high school.

She accepted Christ as her lord and savior and was baptized into Bethany Baptist church at an early age.

Dottie married Ronald "Duke" Johnson in 1956. The two shared three children during their union. Ronald Johnson Jr., Michael Johnson and Darryl Johnson. Michael and Darryl proceeded her in death. Dottie also has one daughter, Sophia,which she shared with the late William Cheek.

"Dottie" or "Red head Dot" as she was fondly known as by family and many friends was the life of every party. Her presence was profound and could shake the room if needed. Always willing to lend a helping hand, give tough love and provide honorable advice. Dottie was outgoing and very outspoken. She had no issue giving you a piece of her mind. She loved to engage with her friends and family as much as she could. Leading to her successfully owning her social club for 15 years in North Philadelphia.

She loved to be outdoors and surrounded by people she loved. She had a host of friends of all ages and demographics which she could easily relate to. Dottie was an all around loving, humorous woman.

Dottie was the youngest of 11 children with 5 sisters and 5 brothers. She was proceeded in death by Arnita "Nanny" Selby, Delores "Sugie" Jackson, Freda Hartman, Majorie Lloyd, William "Junie" Stowe, Leonard Stowe, Alvin "Tincey" Stowe and Allen Stowe. She's survived by one sister, Yvonne Watterson and one brother, Harry Stowe.

Dottie is survived by 5 grandchildren, Darrell, Derrick, Yinda, Tymir and Syterra "Mooka." 2 great-grand children, Tytiana and Madysin and one bonus great-grand, Priscilla, whom all loved her very much.

Dottie also leaves to mourn her loss: a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and her Redfield street neighbors whom all loved her dearly.
