Delores Ann Williams was born on December 22, 1946 to Ellen Williams in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Philadelphia public schools, graduating from Overbrook High School. Delores was employed by the School District of Philadelphia soon after graduating high school in the Comprehensive Day Care program where she retired after thirty-eight years. While employed, Delores took classes parttime and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Antioch University in 1987. Delores loved her church. She often said that she was there for the duration. As a young woman, Delores joined Mt. Olivet under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Marshall Lorenzo Shepard, Jr. She attended faithfully as part of several ministries and was later ordained as a Deacon. ''Mama Dee'' was known for her big smile and easygoing manner. She loved to encourage others and was not shy about expressing her faith. Delores was the mother of two daughters-Crystal, the younger, and Dawn Williams who predeceased her mother in 2002. Delores is survived by her daughter Crystal, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great grandnieces and nephews. She also leaves to mourn her sister from another mother, Mary Williams.
