Obituary

Cephas L. Tucker was born on September 5th, 1927 to the late Rev. William and Beatrice Tucker in Greta, Virginia. Cephas went to be with the Lord on April 25th, 2024.

Cephas accepted Jesus as his lord and savior at a young age. Cephas joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. He joined Monumental Baptist Church in the early 50s and was a faithful member until he could no longer attend due to his health. After his service in the army, Cephas was employed at the Ford Motor Company until 1965 when he went into the tavern business with his late brother William (Bill) Tucker.

On July 15th, 1961 Cephas was joined in union to Hattie Barham and was a devoted husband until she passed in 2018. Cephas and Hattie had one son Cephas Bernard Tucker (Sherri) and one grand daughter, Samantha all whom reside in Greenbrier, Tennessee.

God's house has many rooms. Welcoming Cephas into God's house are his sisters Yvonne Butcher (Lamont), Joyce Pittman (Howard), Aquila Capers (James), Connie Harris (Robert), Rev. Susie Tucker, Zella Mae Pittman (William). Brothers William Tucker Jr. (survived by Christina Tucker), Whirley Tucker.

Left to mourn his loss are his sisters Hattie Bynum (John) of Washington DC Sarah Mack (Starling) and Ruby Torrance (James) of Columbus OH.

Cephas has numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
