She was born on February 11, 1952, to the late Isaac "Ike" Warren and Carrie Bell Williams-Warren of Savannah, GA. She was preceded in death by her four brothers MacArthur Warren, Lonnie Edward Warren, Isaac Warren Jr., and James Levert Warren. Carolyn was born and educated in Savannah, GA. She was a dedicated and hard worker. She committed to over 20+ years with Aramark Corporation along with LaSalle University before retiring. She was married for 29 years to the late George L. Gaines Sr. Her hobbies included reading her daily devotions never missing a day of it, spending time with loved ones, writing poetry, and writing plays. Her favorite thing to do to pastime was completing her daily telephone calls which she made ritually every day and watching her stories. There was not a day that passed that she didn't make sure her family was doing well. She was an easy person to talk to and never met a stranger who didn't enjoy their conversation. Every time you saw her, a smile as warm as the hot summer sun flooded her face, along with a warm wave that welcomed you in, and because of that she was known as "Miss America" by some. She had a saying that comforted many in different times of need, with her warm embrace these words that came naturally always went on to be the ending of every conversation. With a voice full of life those words that could brighten your day were "I love you". She was introduced to the Lord at an early age and continued to know him up until he called her home to rest.
