On June 29, 1943, Caroline Marie Harris was born to Helen Nisbet Harris and John Henry Harris in the Elmwood section of Philadelphia, PA. As a little girl she suffered a sunstroke, and for the rest of her life she wore hats. She was the 10th of 13 children.

Caroline attended Vaux School and then Bok Technical High School, where she found her love for sports. Caroline played softball and competed in track and field. She also won the citywide Art Contest three times in a row. Her father would say she had more talent in her little finger than her twelve siblings combined.

Resna Jane Cash and Caroline Marie Harris had a committed relationship for many years before the passing of Resna. They shared a relationship full of love, compassion, and understanding. Together they created a safety net for family and friends — if you needed a meal, advice, or a place to stay, their door was always open. Caroline and Resna raised a remarkable son who loved and cherished his moms. Their love lives on through Omar and John, and everyone else they helped grow.

Caroline was most affectionately known as “Boo Bo.” She was an amazing, gorgeous woman — a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, awesome friend, and life partner.

Caroline was a woman of many talents with a beautiful, creative spirit. She loved to sing jazz, knit, sew, draw, and create beautiful 3D cards. She found great joy in making fun games for the children, which brought smiles and laughter. Caroline's imagination and generous heart made every project a gift of love to those around her.

Caroline was also known as a gourmet cook. Her meals brought family and friends together, filling the home with love, comfort, and cherished memories. It's hard to put into words how much she loved cooking — when she cooked, she couldn't stop watching you enjoy eating her delicious food. Whether sharing a favorite recipe or preparing a meal for someone in need, she expressed her love through her cooking.

Caroline was a lover of cheesesteaks, but the only thing she loved more was crabs — she was the best crab cooker around. Her favorite place to go out to eat was Sang Kee Noodle House in Chinatown.

Caroline's singing started early in life. She sang at many venues and clubs, and also entertained on a cruise ship, performing with bands and as a solo artist. Caroline was a member of Diva Nations before becoming ill, but long before joining Diva Nations, she focused on helping others find their voices. She loved putting her own lyrics to others' instrumental songs, creating a whole new musical experience, and then sharing it with the world.

Caroline was very proud of her musical family and loved them all. She worked with many musicians over the years — we don't know you all, but you know who you are. Thank you for loving Carol. She also helped others find their musical voice and their own sound.

Above all, Caroline will be remembered for her caring heart, gentle spirit, cooking, and wonderful voice, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she has touched with her creativity, compassion, generosity, and love.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. As Caroline would say —
